Katie Stone, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist & Owner of Katie Stone Wellness
Hi, I’m Katie! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Wellness Writer, Adjunct Professor, Yoga Instructor and owner of Katie Stone Wellness. I am a neurodivergent therapist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and relational issues. I enjoy thinking outside of the box and getting creative in therapy to help my clients develop unique and personalized strategies for healing. My practice is centered around the concept of wholistic wellness, which involves treating the whole person, not just the “symptoms,” in an effort to provide a more meaningful and sustainable treatment outcome.
I’m passionate about incorporating yoga, mindfulness and somatic awareness into my work with clients to enhance the mind-body connection.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy writing, painting, drawing, and connecting with nature. When I’m not working, I love spending time at the beach or snuggling with my Labradoodle, Ryder.
I strongly believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy, which is why I utilize an integrative, culturally informed, social justice-oriented and trauma-based treatment approach in my work with clients.
I believe in meeting my clients wherever they are in their journey to wellness, with compassion and understanding. I integrate evidence based practices such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR therapy in conjunction with expressive art, mindfulness, and somatic techniques to develop a customized treatment plan for every client. I believe therapy should be fun, inclusive and safe for every body. I utilize a Health At Every Size® (HAES) framework to promote health equity and quality care for every client regardless of their body size.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Art Studio and Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.
I have been working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, negative body image, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, and relationship issues since 2016.
